We raise beautiful Belted Galloway cattle that graze entirely on grass for the duration of their lives. This gives our meat exceptional flavour, colour and texture when it reaches your plate. Plus, the cows live a happy life out in the open, as a herd.

Allen developed a passion for this rare breed in the early ’80s. In order to sustain the farm, we decided to sell sides of beef to family and friends which led to sales through farmers’ markets.
We believe in nose-to-tail consumption along with involvement at every step of the process. In addition to daily farm maintenance, breeding work and animal husbandry, we spend time each week in the boning room, working alongside a butcher. We are also passionate about local, regional, seasonal produce.
Our farm is in Clonbinane but with previous drought years in our area and limited land, we have been agisting our cattle on farms in different regions for some time, in order to maintain a free range, grass fed herd. This system has worked well for us and for the animals.
As the food industry is always evolving and consumers become increasingly more discerning and aware of food production and manufacturing, direct contact with customers, whether new or loyal, via farmers’ markets, ensures we can keep up to date with the latest requirements/trends and adapt accordingly.
